NSCB Procedures and Protocols
All the current NSCB protocols are regularly updated so please check back to ensure you have the latest version. Click here to see a list of our protocols or use the left hand navigation tabs to find our protocols.
The NSCB endeavours to ensure that its procedures and protocols remain consistent and contemporary with government guidance and best practice.
The NSCB also seeks to ensure that partner agencies are knowledgeable about procedures and protocols, and have in place appropriate mechanisms to ensure compliance.
The NSCB process in respect of this is as follows:
- Identification, via review at relevant NSCB sub group, of issue needing consideration
- Drafting of new protocol/procedure either via staff team or multi-agency working group - following review of relevant guidance and practice literature
- Dissemination of draft to all agencies for consultation and amendment
- Final draft produced and disseminated to partner agencies
- Ratified by NSCB Board
- The new procedures/protocol then becomes live, and is added to the NSCB website: at this point agencies are expected to comply
Protocols are then subject to review as needed; minor review may be done via a virtual process: significant review would require a repeat of the above process.
